Okay, going to give this Ten Commandment thing a shot.

Today in church, we had a sermon on just that. It was titled "Keeping the 4 Commandments and 6 The Best I Can Do"

I have been reading Exodus and about Moses. I even inadvertantly picked up a Christian Fiction book, that turned out to be about Moses. I didn't see that until I had brought it home ( Read more... )

Yeah, I think the story of Exodus tends to stop for most Christians after the receiving of the Ten Commandments. There is so much more to this book of the Bible.

I agree...they totally missed it when trying to "remake" the old one. Kevin and I were watching the new one and kept saying, "That's not right" or "That's not in the bible". I was so glad that we did get to see the old one though!

I love the campiness of the original movie. I watched it every Easter without fail, even when I wasn't a Christian.

You have to know that anything aired these days on TV is purely for entertainment. I'm not always sure whose entertainment. Only PBS or one of the Discovery Channels would you find anything else. That also includes the "news & news channels".

I agree, but hope springs eternal. At least the industry is starting to acknowledge that the Christian market exists.

Thank you for posting this information. I didn't watch the movie because the entertainment industry tends to disappoint me greatly when it comes to "Christian movies" on TV.

I guess I should pray for this industry, yes?! How awesome would that be, to see a move of the Holy Spirit in the entertainment industry, turning the movers and shakers to Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior?!

You are welcome.

I think there is a movement toward more Christian movies. The Passion for instance was a big breakthrough, although, I couldn't watch it. Just the thought of it tears my heart out when I think of the sacrifice Jesus made for us.

I think there is a movement for more Christian movies made on the "big" screen and those have been great. I saw The Passion and cried all the way through it. I am so thankful for what our God and his son Jesus did for us!!!

Another good movie, I thought, was The Visitation. It is based on a book by the same name by Frank Peretti. Have you seen it? Peretti has become one of my favorite authors. I think I have every "adult" book he has published. He writes for kids too, and the few I have read are very good.

I love Frank Peretti!

He has a new book out that he wrote with my other favorite author, Ted Decker. I'm waiting for it to come out in paperback so it will be cheaper, but may wind up getting it anyway.

I'm a big reader of Christian fiction.
