About Bombshell ....
Abilities:
Bombshell had leadership qualities and was highly intelligent, having a fascination for any sort of brain and mind. He constantly studied the working of the same and ways in which control may be achieved through this and invented Cerebro-shells used to control both mechs and humans by injecting a micro-circuited device into the head through his stinger. The device released many connecting wires which coiled around structures until the brain’s conscious functions were rerouted through the cerebro-shell. This put the mind of the victim under the remote control of Bombshell.
Bombshell could also fly very proficiently and Insecticons seemed generally to be good fighters and pretty resilient.
Weapons:
Cerebroshells (as above) and also a head mounted mortar canon.
Personality:
The cerebroshell invention was motivated not only by fascination and the need to create a useful weapon. Bombshell enjoyed turning enemies into helpless accomplices. A scheming and clever negotiator with a dry and cruel sense of humour, he actually enjoyed making unwilling followers perform embarrassing and debasing acts. For this reason, he wound up as one of Megatron’s favorites, even though Insecticons were very much on their own side at times and this exasperated the Decepticon leader. Bombshell also appeared to get along very well with Soundwave, although others such as Starscream continued to treat him like a ‘dumb bug’ (maybe out of embarrassment at having fallen victim to the cerebroshell on occasions.)
On a positive note, Bombshell was fiercely loyal to and protective of his two fellow insecticons (Shrapnel and Kickback)and frequently emphasized the need for them all to stick together. He appeared willing to allow Shrapnel to lead where this may be more appropriate and wasted no time putting him back together (a remarkable feat) when Shrapnel became unstable as a result of overconsumption of high grade fuel and was blown to pieces (despite being given an antidote by the human, Spike.)
