Lewis/Foyle's War

I want to see a Lewis/Foyle's War crossover, or is it AU? I just want to see Lewis and Hathaway investigating domestic crime in wartime England.
The only thing I can't work out is why wouldn't Hathaway have volunteered, let alone been conscripted. Maybe the priest thing? Maybe he would have to be injured? (but I don't want him to be injured!) maybe ( Read more... )

Hmmmm problem solved if they are military police. Maybe military police based in England looking after the forces at home. Lewis would have reached his position after years of work through the levels, where are Hathaway through being educated, drafted to where his skills most fit.

I'm surprised you're reading in Lewis. I remember your rather disparaging comments about how old Brett and Danny of The Persuaders were, and Lewis is much older!

But Hathaway! :) and I seem to have a thing for age gaps. No idea why. It's like that scene were Innocent is telling Lewis off saying that the senior officer is meant to train and improve the junior, not become more juvenile themselves. I really loved it.
The age gap makes for a larger difference in experience/general knowledge, which I find more interesting in a pairing when it ends up meshing together than with parings of same generation. I think it must be part of me liking and being more interested in parings where the characters are really different.

Ahaha but yes I'm very guilty of being ageist if there wasn't a young character in there. I think I offended both Sarren and Rach by poo-hooing inspector Morse :)

Didn't offend me - I didn't watch Morse. I did read a few Morse/Lewis fics many, many years ago when Lewis was the younger one, but he was married with kids, so I never really got into the pairing. And (showing my bias) while I'm sure Lewis was devoted to Morse, I can't believe he had the same kind of bromance with him as he does with Hathaway.

I loved that scene with Innocent reprimands them, and they give each other sheepish looks. That whole 'drunk and facetious' joke is the reason that ep is my second favourite.
