yesterday won the award for one of the suckiest days in awhile.
i got up at 4am after three hours of sleep and had jono and matt fransen drive me to the airport (which was actually very fun and the non-suck part of the day). I waited for my plane for about an hour and then was told i wouldnt make it (i fly standby because of dad, and when people who actuall pay to fly fill up the plane, i'm s.o.l.). I fell asleep at the airport, which is pathetic, and when I woke up, I found out that the original plane was grounded because some idiot bumped it with the jetway and therefore all the people who paid to fly were now filling up the later flights and I wouldnt make it out until about 11am. Then there was a minor miracle and they got the plane fixed and sent me and the other stand-bys out on it. When we landed in Pheonix, there was a long delay and I had to run the entire length of the Pheonix airport to make it to my gate. I almost didnt get on, but they had one empty seat. The marquee said that the flight was going to Seattle, but the agents who switched my flights forgot to mention it went through Vegas. Got to Vegas and considered playing the slots illegally, but decided against it. I almost got bumped off the plane to seattle and i magically made it on, but then there was a computer glitch that grounded us for almost two hours. When I finally got to Seattle, I had to pee so bad, but the jetway was late for about another half an hour. I got into the airport, found the USO (a cool place in airports that military personnel and their dependants can stay in that has beds, food, and wifi), drank a cup of water, projectile vomited it into the toilet i barely made it to, and crashed out in one of the bunks.
I woke up at five in the morning to find out that all the bunks around me were full of snoring military boys, snuck out, and had a cup of tea. I went back to bed to be woken up at 8 by a frantic USO volunteer who was afraid that I had missed my flight because she forgot to wake me up. I took a shower, ate a cup of noodles, and I finally feel like a human again.
Now I get to brave the Metro Seattle bus system to go check into a hotel I am not even totally sure how to get to.
The rest of this trip better be fantastic....
