Ummmm...if you didn't find it then that means you wrote that name out from memeory? Yikes. I don't think anyone could be on crack and do that.

I've never heard the story, but I did find something on it here:

Tikki Tikki Tembo

Thank you, thank you! I couldn't find it because I had the first part of the name wrong. (Probably comfusing it with Riki Tiki Tavi).

Then again, I didn't do too badly considering I last heard the story when dinosaurs still roamed the earth. :)

Have a great weekend!

Haha...Rikki Tikki Tavi. I remember watching that on TV when I was a kid.

Back when dinosaurs roamed the earth.

Thank you for the info!

turningjapaneez pointed me to that exact site (and I already ordered it for my daughter).

When I read that book as a child I walked around for days shouting Tikki Tikki Tembo's full name. It drove my parents crazy. :)

I remember the story, but not the infinitely long name syllable for syllable. I liked the story as a wee lad... I still like it. Somehow it didn't come back to me as I read to my own children. Perhaps it has mostly faded from the children's book scene?

We received the book from Amazon yesterday and Em LOVES it. She had me read it to her six times last night. By the third reading, she was shouting "Tikki Tikki Tembo-no Sarembo Chari Bari Ruchi-Pip Peri Pembo" at the top of her lungs every time we came to the name.

I think I've created a monster. ;o)
