Yeah, I think it is. Its quite a bit tamer than the Sookie Stackhouse books, being that its marketed as a young adult book. But that mainly just means that there's no written out sex scenes (sadly) or excessive swearing. The storyline itself I don't think is neccessarily a young adult level. I mean, my mom thinks its one of the best stories she's ever read lol! But its a lot different from any other vampire stories, it breaks away from almost all of the traditional vampire stereotypes. So yeah, they're vampires and they drink blood, but basically everything else is different. Which I think is one of the most interesting things about the books. Plus at the core of the story, its a love story, and I'm a huge sap for romance lol. But its got a lot else going for it besides just the romance.
So yeah, there's a lot of hype about it, some good, some bad. But personally, I think its worth the hype. :)
I'll definitely let you know how the movie is. I'd say your safest bet would be to see the movie first, then read the books. At least for me, I tend to not be as disappointed in the movie if I do it in that order. Although I generally do pretty well with separating the movie from books in my mind. I'm having a bit harder time with True Blood, so I'm wondering if maybe its because its a tv show that I see weekly rather than just a two hour movie, so its in my mind to analyze more, or if its really just that AB is screwing it up that much.
But I'm really hoping that the Twilight movie is good. Most of what I've seen in trailers and clips from the movie I like, with just a couple things I didn't. For the most part, I think they've done a pretty good job staying true to the book. So I'll definitely let you know how it is so you can decide whether to read the books or not. :)
Yeah, I'm still around. I just haven't had anything to post for a while, and haven't been doing much more than lurking around here. I wish I could say that I was too busy to do much chatting on here, but sadly I haven't had much of anything to do lately. I've just been in a major funk for a while. I have a chronic pain disorder in my foot that's kept me from being able to work, and I had to take fall quarter off from school cause of it too. I'm fortunately at least going to be starting school again in January, so that will at least give me something to stay productive. Hopefully it won't put me too far in the other direction and leave me insanely stressed out. I'm not going to get my hopes up too far on that though, my classes are killer ones with crazy workloads. But it'll at the very least be nice to have an excuse to get out of the house regularly.
I'm hoping to sit down and write a Twilight fanfic oneshot or two before I start school again and get too busy to do any writing. So be on the lookout for those. ;)
lol its no problem. If you hold your mouse over a person's icon, it'll give you a list of options, and one of them is "send a message". just so you know. ;)
