If anyone hasn't discovered Spotify yet, may I take this opportunity to recommend it most highly. Money doesn't actually go to the artists with Spotify - it's a little more complicated than that. More info on Robert Fripp's blog:

Sounds to me like Fripp has a dispute over ownership with his record company. Not really Spotify's fault. Although I would hope (but not with much faith) that they'd remove the tracks until the dispute is resolved.
