The Twelfth

Having seen Floyd myself (on the Delicate Sound of Thunder tour), you're right. A Floyd gig is/was an experience you'll NEVER forget, and find hard to adequately describe to anyone who wasn't.

Amen to that. I was fortunate to catch them several times, on the "Delicate Sound" tour and several times on the "Division Bell" tour, and they were - as one might expect - amazing. It's virtually impossible to describe to other people the impact those shows had on me. It's something you have to experience first hand to really grok. The same goes for Roger's shows. There's a Floydy essence to all of the above that no-one else has even come close to emulating.

Really great blog, mate... :-)

I'll play the bootleg of the show tonight. Shame it's a day late! Did I ever drop off the hundredweight or so of bootlegs I have on a list for you? I don't believe I did, so I'll get started on them when I get chance, i.e. not this side of October!

No, but then I don't think I ever dropped off the list of boots I wanted....

I saw them in London on the same tour. It was memorable because just as Rick Wright began the opening of "Shine On" there was a crash and the lights went up. The band on stage scampeored off. People were actually booing while others where trapped in a tangle of metal at the back...

Reschedule gig was unforgettable. I can still remember how my heart leapt as they began with Astronime Domine... Wooow!
