I think people like to embrace the idea of a completely untarnished year...it's a little easier for them to come to resoluteness with a whole new year ahead of them than just randomly. But yeah, most of them fail, proving that an untarnished year just isn't enough motivation. =P

i wasn't really confused as to why people only do it on new years. i just think people should learn to do it year round.
