Shopping therapy...and the quest of becoming prepared...

So, I did some shopping therapy today to try and get my mind off of things going on. Granted, I didn't actually go to stores, but buying stuff is still therapy...even if it isn't at a retail store. I found an ad on craigslist for a HUGE indoor baby and kids sale. I like to think I hit pay dirt:

Its probably easier to say "awwww" to boy stuff than girl stuff isn't it?

Oh, I dunno about that. I'd be equally 'awwed' about little girl stuff too :)

have you considered looking at used items? Like the playpenn/crib mattress? Sometimes you can find really good deals on stuff that is hardly used. Here, we have a few kid's consignment places that are great for clothing/gear & also the classifieds sites are good.

The only way I'll buy used stuff like play pen/mattress is if it comes from someone that I know VERY well. Bed bugs here are becoming more and more a worry. I've been through bed bugs once and will not go through them again. That's one of the biggest drawbacks to used furniture here.

There are always baby yard sales in my neighborhood, always. I'm definitely going to use them!

The majority of what I have is hand me downs, albiet ones I've checked out thoroughly. As the above people said...consignment shops are a blessing as well as yard sales.

Dont buy tons of diapers incase the baby isnt the size you think they'll be. If you know anyone that's had a baby recently they generally have left over newborn diapers as they grow out of them SO fast.

We're not buying a whole bunch of diapers prior to having the baby, but I know that we'll need at least 1 pack of newborn and at least 1 pack of size 1. I don't know anyone who has any remaining diapers...though formula is another story.
