I finally got my sewing machine set up, after buying it how many months ago? It works perfect. I can't believe it. I'd been sitting there looking at it, always wanting to get it out, but for some reason, I was afraid. $17 a pattern is outrageous! Unless you cut your own patterns it wouldn't pay you to make your own clothes. It makes sewing into a hobby instead of a way to save money.

Tell me about it. That's why I'm going to be doing most of my stuff myself. That's actually sort of the original reason I got it, anyway. I used to design stuff for me and my kids when they were little. Nothing super complicated, but it was in style. Even if I do that, though, fabric isn't that cheap anymore, either. But it'll be fun.

$17 for a pattern?? Outrageous! I can buy shorts for that!

Yeah, isn't that crazy? There are cheaper ones, but they're the super basic ones that take a couple of simple pieces. I can do that without a pattern.
