I'm going to try something. I'm hoping maybe this will help me to get back on lj a little more often-if not to post, at least to comment. I'm going to delete several of the people on my FL. A lot of them no longer comment or comment so rarely, or I comment so rarely on theirs, I don't feel that we really have that much in common, other than ( Read more... )

good to read your post! the volunteer opportunities sound excellent. it can be so helpful to get out and help others :)

I just have felt like I was wasting my life, doing nothing but go to my mother's, go shopping, and ride my exercise bike. That's not living, it's just existing. This gives me a purpose. And I can do it when I'm ABLE. That's what drew me to it, more than anything. I've always wanted to do some kind of volunteer thing, but I've always been afraid of the commitment, cuz I didn't feel like I could be depended on to be consistent.

It's a great fit for you, the do it WHEN you feel you want to. I think this opportunity could really help you feel some purpose.

I've felt a LOT better myself now that I've been back to work. It's good to be around people.

hmmm. i almost ordered some things off that classic closeouts website. youll have to keep me posted as to whether or not your parka ever arrives. if its not there by thursday Id definitely call them. i suppose its possible its lost on a ups truck somewhere.

Actually, it wasn't the Classic Closeout place. I got the parka the day it was supposed to arrive. It was the boots I've had the problem with. I ordered them from Amazon. I have never had a problem with them, either. It's UPS that's been the problem. I mentioned in my latest post what's going on with that. No, I like Classic Closeouts. Don't not order from them. You might miss out on something good, lol.

What do you mean, your comments aren't interesting? They're interesting...and very helpful at times when I've really needed it. What a jerk I am.
