Make sure you get enough protein (almonds are a good source) or all the weight-lifting in the world won't make a difference. I ran into that problem when I was wrestling because I wasn't taking in enough of the right kind of calories-- it ended up being that I needed about 5-600 more calories a day in order to spike my metabolism. Once I ate more, I lost weight twice as fast and packed on muscle.
Yeah, I recently realized that. I've been going to the gym and doing a hard workout for a good while. I got much smaller, but never actually built muscle, so I stayed squishy. Yesterday, I started using Dave's protein power. I'll have to go get some almonds. =)
