Interesting review of our A23 support... the reviewer was generous all round, but here's the bit concerning System:FX...
When we got in, we missed about half of the first support band, SYSTEM:FX. However as soon as I got there, I was really amazed by what I saw. The singer, I thought had a really cool singing voice, I thought it was kinda similar to Keith Flint from The Prodigy, which to me is a good thing, because when I was wee boy I used to really like that voice of his, years ago lol. I heard a couple of songs and however I wasnt in the mood to hear, it's not because of thinking the band was rubbish, but mainly because
of us being late and just calming down after being late. I hate being late for gigs, it's an ultimate pet hate of mine, and plus my arms were aching and freezing after walking in the rain. So I was still feeling rather aggrevated and unfocused to focus on really what was going on. However, the ending song proved somewhat to be a "cheer up" moment. The song that they played was a song called VIRUS. Virus has already achieved them a bit of internet airplay and this is where I heard the song on Darkwave Radio UK, "Slimelight Radio" in other words lol. So, I thought "Yeah I know this song, now cheer up Stokesy" lol
After the show, Debs the drummer was handing out free CDs. I tried to get one but unfortunately didn't manage, damn!. I wanted one. Oh well, she did say, message us on myspace so that's what I've done and I now have received a copy of their EP "HIGH:DEFINITION:VIOLENCE" through the post, earlier this week. Thank you Debs (the CD slinging drummer)
Oh I'm sorry I forgot, you wanna know who System:FX are?
System:FX are a 3 piece band coming from London led by vocalist Steve, his wife Debs on drums and Rik on keyboards. They've only been going for a shortwhile, formed in early 2007 and still unsigned but have already received success in the clubs in the UK and even Europe, not only that, received a lot of airplay on radios as well and have already recorded a debut EP, which I am hoping to get shortly
THOUGHTS ON SYSTEM:FX
Although we all came a little too late and only caught the last half of the show, System:FX have a really good strong line-up and performance skills, despite there is only 3 members altogether. Vocally it does have The Prodigy feel but more stompyish and not trying to sound like them musically, still sticking to the sound, which is a good thing.
Musically, despite there's only a keyboardist and the drummer, it proves to be exciting to watch. The keyboarist Rik knows how to play without being nervous and Deb as well as lending her voice on the odd occasion, she knows how to keep the eyes of the audience open, not only lending her voice, banging on the drums like crazy but as well as having a drumset that swings back and forth, that's something I don't see every day with a band so that was a wow moment for me there ;).
Although I only know a little about them and only know the song VIRUS, System:FX were worth being chosen to be the first support bands and well done to them.

By the way, if you have internet radio I'd recommend you sign up on live365 and go on "Darkwave Radio UK", Virus is quite a popular track on that, so keep a look out for it ;)
Notice how I don't post the shitty reviews? Ha haaa! That's the third time we've had a Prodigy comparison, the only time we've been compared to anyone more than once... guess that's a good thing, right?
