Thank you very much for choosing one of my fandoms - I love each and every one of them to a ridiculous degree and I'm looking forward to seeing what you'll write! Prompts here are just suggestions - I'm pretty flexible about most things so I hope you feel free to write what makes you inspired. Happy Yuletide!
General Notes
- Not a big fan of the "rocks fall, everyone dies" ending but feel free to add non-excessive angst when needed. So if a character would logically be upset in a situation, cool. If the fic's nothing but people being sad and angsty and everything ends horribly without some bit of hope, it's not going to be something I'm really into.
- I love humor in stories, especially the darker forms of comedy, but no crack fic please.
- I don't have very strong preferences about narrative perspective or styles, except for not really liking second person POV.
- I enjoy canon, but I appreciate AUs quite a bit - all of my requests this year have room to play around in
- All availabilty notes are based on my US location - other geographical regions may differ.
DNWs:
- Permanent nominated character death - characters can be near death or mistakenly thought dead, but nothing that sticks. Also, death of characters not nominated is fine - that includes characters in the tagset that I didn't choose.
- No animal harm, extreme underage, bodily fluids (blood is fine).
- No unrequested pairings involving nominated characters. I'm fine with minor characters being paired off (including canon parents of characters) and I'll note in each fandom where canon pairings involving the nominated characters are cool. Please, though, if you choose to not write ship fic in the fandoms where I've given prompts for it, I'd rather not have them in in relationships with other characters/OCs.

Characters: Migi, Izumi Shinichi
Oh, I'm so happy someone nominated this because seriously, this was one of my favorite animes! Look, I'm a sucker for alien invasion stories, but when one of them involves your hand getting replaced by a talking, shapeshifting creature who proceeds to save your life while claiming he's just doing it because he needs you (even though he really doesn't?). So good. And the bonding they go through together is terrific - going from fear to grudging alliance to outright admitting they don't want to be separated. It's the touching story of a boy and the thing that can change into a dick and I love it all!
So yes, Migi and Shinichi. I should also point out that, uh, I may ship them too. I mean, I'm totally fine with just some gen adventuring and creepy case-solving, but if you decide to go the route suggested by Migi's shapeshifting capablities and his desire to make Shinichi feel better, I will not say no. Also, if you choose one of my prompts where Migi isn't necessarily the nice creature he starts out as, I give full permission to do some creepy threatening tentacle stuff if your heart desires.
I'm fine with either non-binary or masculine pronouns for Migi. And if you include other characters, the only thing I ask is that you don't actively ship Shinichi with Murano. He can have had a past relationship with her that was meaningful, but I'd rather explore Shinichi and Migi together and not include other love interests.
Prompts:
One of my thoughts was clearly alien invasion! As in, what if the parasites decide that screw this, we're still going to take over the world and Migi and Shinichi have to deal with being in their weird situation. Obviously, Migi's not going to let Shinichi be killed, but at the same time, they'd probably be forced to do things they don't want to while they work on trying to save the world.
Or something even earlier where the parasites already negotiated with humanity pre-canon and Shinichi was one of the lucky people picked to have his own parasite. He's determined to go through with it for his parents' sake (and oh, the angst if his mother already has her one), but he soon realizes (and Migi does too) that it's not just going to be a simple case of brain-eating.
I'd also love something where Migi doesn't go to sleep at the end, or maybe wakes up after a few years. How does an older Shinichi deal with Migi's reappearance in his life? Maybe he's alone, and Migi senses he needs comfort, or he's in danger, and there's Migi to save his life. Just a nice reunion with your hand would be lovely.

I heard this described as “meek older man discovers historical fantasy China Grindr” and they're not wrong. Seriously, how could I not fall in love with a story where a depressed guy decides that for his last hurrah in his life, he's going to look at dick pics in a newspaper. Excuse me, “pengornis” illustrations. I need to be correct about this. But of course, one of them belongs to a devastatingly handsome younger general that literally sweeps him off his feet, carries him off to have passionate sex, and then... our hero is like, that was nice. I guess I'll go home now and look at more pics, even if I did get to eat some good food while I was there.
So yeah, it's not a conventional romance even if it does have a happy ending (note: I have only read up to where the translations have left off, but I'm thoroughly spoiled for the ending, so feel free to use that). I love the relationship between Wu Xingzi and Guan Shanjin - how it's GS that constantly kept off-balance and how WX is a shy, not good with intrigue man, who nonetheless manages to trip up multiple plans just by being himself. I love their growing trust, GJ's realization of how much he loves WX just for being him, and for WX learning to ask for what he wants.
Also, the sex is really hot, though I would ask that you not go with the canon-level description of bodily fluids - I don't mind some coming here and there, but any reference to watersports is a big DNW.
Prompts:
While I haven't reached the end, I am perfectly fine with any happy post-canon type of story you'd like to throw at me. Something where the two of them are together and blissfully in love would be wonderful.
I'm also fine with canon divergence here - maybe something where they meet under different circumstances? Guan Shanjin gets injured and stumbles his way into Wu Xingzi? Wu Xingzi almost succeeds in his original plan before Guan Shanjin manages to save his life. Basically, hurt/comfort with a good excuse is amazing.
And finally, AU. As long as it's not coffee shop or high school, I'd love something with the characters in a different setting too. Vampires? Why not. Fantasy with dragons? Cool. IN SPACE! Yes!
Death Note: Light Up the NEW World
Availability: 3.99 to rent on Amazon
Characters: Mishima Tsukuru | Nakagami Ryou (Light Up the NEW World), Ryuzaki | Arai Masayuki (Light Up the NEW World)
Okay, so I didn't even remember to nominate this and yet, as soon as I saw it, I was like, yes! How did I forget you! I really love this continuation of the Death Note series so much - it uses the idea of Light and L and twists it into something awesome. What if L's successor had a shinigami and Death Note of his own (that he never used)? What if the police detective that was secretly Kira all along (and had amnesia) decided, no, the previous me was completely wrong and I should atone for all of that. What if we had these two working together and they were beautiful and smart and I love them so much?
So yes, I would love some stories with the two of them together - using their brains to track down Death Notes. I've prompted for quite a bit of canon divergence because I'd love more to explore with them and canon sort of kills one of them off and leaves a cliffhanger ending for the other one. I definitely ship them and any level of explicitness would be fine.
So with that being said, please don't kill off either one. I'm fond of them both to a ridiculous degree.
Prompts:
Ryuzaki doesn't die at the end, but Mishima still ends up getting imprisoned. Maybe he convinces the authorities that Mishima's expertise is desperately needed to track down the remaining Death Notes and they agree as long as Ryuzaki supervises.
Something where they're on the run together at the end would be fine too. Again, this presupposes that Ryuzaki doesn't die from the Death Note, but I am a consistent person in wanting him to live. Anyhow, Mishima can't figure out why Ryuzaki hasn't turned him in - and Ryuzaki doesn't know either.
And yes, I know this would be a bit of a crossover with a larger fandom, but something where L and Light also survive (hand wave this however you want) and take proteges in Ryuzaki and Mishima would be fun. Or maybe time travel where they show up in the future? Either way, they're deeply disturbed to realize that their successors are boning and that they could have been doing that the whole time.
The King: Eternal Monarch
Availability: Streaming on Netflix
Characters: Jo Yeong, Kang Sin Jae, Lee Gon
Look, the moment that Kang Sin Jae shoved himself up against Lee Gon, followed by the very intense “I'm your king bit,” I was sold on the two of them. And then throwing in Jo Yeong just added a whole other fun dynamic of loyalty and respective views of leadership and lots of sexual tension, yes, please. So I was like, yes, this is cool. It's going to end with everyone going to their “proper” worlds and Kang Sin Jae will end up working with Jo Yeong and Lee Gon for real and--oh, he doesn't remember either one of them. Well, yay for me.
So please give me something that fixes that - I really want the three of them working together, alternating between bitching at each other and saving each others' lives. I definitely ship the three of them together, so if you decide to make it romantic, please don't split them apart into pairs (a little bit of oh, these two are together, but I could never be with them is fine as long as it leads to a mutually assured threesome).
Also, while I don't dislike the canon relationship between Lee Gon and Jeong Tae-Eul, I'd rather they be broken up in the story. Either they never got together or they had a mutual amicable break-up (long distance relationships across time and space are difficult?)
Prompts:
Post-canon fix-it! Kang Sin Jae totally remembers the king and shows up to bug the shit out of him and Jo Yeong. Or maybe pine at them instead, that's fun too. I'd also take a reversal where LG and JY end up sort of stalking KSJ and he's wondering why the leader of his country keeps randomly messing with his work.
Pre-canon fun! Kang Sin Jae never went over and stayed in the kingdom from the beginning (which actually, probably did happen with canon and now my brain is kind of hurting thinking about the timelines). Maybe he got a spot working with JY and so when all the fun world-jumping occurred, he was tasked with going over there too.
And finally, I would definitely go for something where Corea is just an evil mirror universe and they kidnap KSJ because look, that's what you do when you're evil and maybe you realize that your counterpart took something from you and you want it back. Just saying.
