Seems the water told Sailormercury. Orochimaru had a connection to Sasuke or might have used a scrying spell.

A sort of spell to target someone or something, to see where they are. Kunzite could do it with his sword; you probably saw him. The witch could probably do it, too, but I'm not sure how.

Oh yeah....that makes sense. Beryl used a crystal ball most of the time, or Metallia, or sometimes Mio to do that.
