This is intriguing! It's also even bigger than it sounds: the "theory of planned action" has long been one of the biggest models in psychology for describing how people make a life change like quitting smoking. This research sounds like it agrees with it insofar as having an extensive "contemplation" stage before the big change, but it otherwise overturns the idea of an orderly progression ( ... )
