Last week-
John and I walked around Capitol Hill in Seattle (no capital there!) and then had dinner at a place called Tamarind Tree. They had this giant orange umbrella tent set up with braziers and other burning torches that we got lucky enough to sit in. People look beautiful in the firelight.

jealous of your trip!

and man i am having the same thoughts about going back to school (altho in my case, it would hopefully increase my salary significantly). mainly, it'd be great to have the knowledge, but do i really wanna go back? will it actually be worth it? do i really want that career? an additional problem i'm having is that there are too many things i'm potentially interested in -- translation/interpretation, human interface design, and a plain old mba.

have you talked to anybody in the music therapy biz? there's probably confidentiality issues, but maybe you could join a group session or something to see what kind of things they do? i got to talk to a couple people at google doing ux design and product management, and both of them made me want to do both of those things. LOL. so i think it would help if you could do informational interviews.

or maybe you could do volunteer stuff related to it to feel it out?

sorry you can't sleep!! have you tried melanin? i've heard good things. good luck!

My plan is to do volunteer stuff to figure it out.
I have used melatonin before- should have picked some up at the store today.
Thanks!

In all honesty, if you've got the chance to go back to school for what you actually want to do, and it won't be too much of a financial burden, you really should do it. Also, remember that your age decreases 10 years if you wear pigtails.

1) is it what I actually want to do? hopefully volunteer work will clarify that
2) it will be a financial burden. Question is how much- lots of therapists can't find work these days.
