I've been busy lately, with office work, as well as some freelance work. We both have been working hard so that we could make some extra cash for more shopping and sightseeing and good food while in Bangkok. That's interesting about the Buddhist worshippers treating tortoises like that. I don't remember the Buddha ever saying anything about that, so it must be some silly superstition. And I also hope Ringo finds a happy home in his travels.

I'm not sure about the teachings of Buddha, but according to what they believe and practise here, that's what happens. They pray a few times a week near this lake and they often release catfish/koi/tortoise here for that reason.

its feng shui and sometimes not related to buddhism. no matter how silly some superstition might get, its only natural for malaysian to have sincere respect for each other's beliefs and religions. as to whether to believe or not, it really depends on how you feel about it. if you're uneasy, let it go since no one can give a better home for any kind of animals than mother nature itself.
