All I have to say is that this is the best waste of time ever. EVER. The only word I've stumped it on was "stromboli" (I know, I know, I'm sorry).

that thing is pretty cool... i stumped it first time around on baseball though. But after that it's been pretty damn good.

Speaking of which... you know where the phrase 'I stumped it' comes from?

Nope, no clue. Enlighten me? Or, alternatively (if you choose to torture me), I'll look it up in the online etymology dictionary. But you should still tell me.

That dictionary looks scary. In any case, I doubt you'll find it in there... well, at least in the sense you used it.

In any case, there's a couple of theories...

1. The usage derives from the annoyance that tree stumps causes farmers when they plough land.

2. This is the one i'd like to believe... the modern day usage derives from it's meaning in cricket, i.e. stump the batsman.
