screw the human race, save the environment? if i go any further it's going to end up getting political and it's too early in the morning for that. :P really i think it's bc they're all about self-preservation. abortion = i want to do with my body what i want because i don't want to have to deal with the consequences of my actions. saving trees = i want to do what i want because i don't want to have to deal with the consequences of others. now while i'm all for preserving the environment, i'm also for acting responsibley. if you can't afford a kid or don't want one or aren't married and able to provide a stable environment for a child, do what you need to in order to not have one.

ugh.

wow i haven't replied to one of your posts in quite a while. i think these are two completely unrelated issues. but let's look at each one independently and hope that we can find some semblance of an answer. there is almost a concensus that the Amazon are the "lungs of the planet." that being said, to deprive the world of these trees would be a hindrance to life on this planet as we know it, and that would be bad (according to environmentalists) to all, even children. as for abortion, i've never met anyone who is "for abortion." no one wants to see fetuses killed, with the exception of a few with mental illness. most people who are pro choice cite freedom from state interference in what they do to their own bodies. abortion for them is a personal choice and they do not want their country's government telling them that they cannot make that choice ( ... )
