I can't seem to determine what the logic is behind this university. It's an engineering school, yet it seems 100% geared against anyone who doesn't want to drink themselves into a coma ( Read more... )

Everyone seems to have a first semester like that. Don't count on university logic existing, just celebrate the ability of the human mind to get used to awfulness.

The weather I envy (what little precipitation we've got HERE did the same thing it does on Mars, evaporating before even hitting the ground! x_X; )

The dorm... oh stars, even UNR is leagues better than that.

The workload... well, you're an engineering major... which equates to experiencing the mental side of basic training... only for 3-5 years instead of just 2-3 months. It only gets worse from here on in.

The food: Wait... your campus doesn't even have shuttle service?

The rest: I suggest sticking it out as best you can until the end of the semester... and if it stays this bad, transfer somewhere else.
