Finished the new Dean Koontz book Forever Odd and liked it a lot. It wasn't the emotional kick in the gut that Odd Thomas was, but still very good. For the record Odd Thomas was a masterpiece in my opinion. I really like it when Koontz expands on a great character. I'm spending the weekend with my sister in Portland right now, it's nice. Good to get away. But not fully away, I brought some work with. If I haven't mentioned it before, both Mezmerize and Hypnotize by System of a Down are both really good. Hypnotize was one of those that wasn't so good out of the box but it's really growing on me. Mezmerize was just flat-out-fuckin' cool from day 1.

I had the pleasure of going to a Christmas/work/birthday party Saturday night at a friend/co-worker/fellow Harley rider's house, it was pretty damn fun actually, even though I didn't know anyone. We managed to win the coed softball league this fall, not that it was difficult, just nice to validate a season like that with a championship.

Well, due to a clash of personalities, work politics, and one particular person who wouldn't know a fiber optic cable from a string bean but who thinks she's God's gift to networks, I am no longer going to Vegas. Don't know if I mentioned it, but I'm going to Nellis AFB for work for two weeks the first two weeks of December. For those who don't know where Nellis is, it's 15 minutes outside of Vegas.
