$70 is crazy! I've paid live, human accountants less than that to do my taxes for me. I haven't looked at taxfreedom, but TaxAct let's you e-file fed and state for $18.
turbotax does this sneaky thing where they raise the price incrementally as April 15th aproaches. So, on Jan 31, it was only 9.95 to file federal taxes. After the 12th of Feb, it went up to 19.95, and now it's 39.95. I managed to get around it though, and still get all of the "premium" service, which was essentially importing all the info from the last year etc. into my federal and state returns.
They do multnomah county taxes too...which is nice.
