The curtains are a cotton pique fabric. Not completely black-out opaque, but not sheer. They have a neat texture to them and are very soft.
Yes, the bed is in the corner. It's actually the only way we can put in and be able to get to both sides. The room is tiny. It's actually the smaller of our two bedrooms, but we have a sort of studio/guest room set up in the other one.
My bed is entirily too large for almost any room I've ever put it in. I'd hate to lose the use of my bedstands, but sometimes I can't even appropriatly use them. That's a good idea.
