This has been haunting me.

My closer friends know how I am about music. Sometimes a track comes a long that gets under my skin and into my soul. This is one of those songs.

Puhu äänellä jonka kuulen

Oh yeah.. it's in Finnish. Synaesthesia, as well as some other things, knows no cultural boundaries. :)

Lyrics and translation for the curious. )

Allo. :) Things are ok. Been dealing with some biggish stuff, but all is going on track. Might even rejoin the normal world again soon.

Funnier yet that I had been thinking about asking you to coffee sometime, since you've dealt with things similar to aforementioned stuff. Also, I was thinking it would be nice to just catch up in person anyway. :)

I actually ran across Synaesthesia sometime last year and really liked them. Given that I usually go more industrial sounding I guess that says something.

Don't know if I've heard this one yet.

The music project Synaesthesia that I know of was a side project of Rhys Fulber n Bill Leeb of Front Line Assembly and Delerium fame. Of all their side stuff, I find it to be the most chill-out and ambient. If you like the older Delerium stuff (pre-Semantic Spaces), you'd probably love Synaesthesia. :)

The song I posted here is actually a Finnish group called Happoradio. I like their other stuff too, but this song really stands out to me for some reason.

I was actually referring to the condition of "synaesthesia," which I have. It's a cross-wiring of the senses in the brain. There's nothing bad about it.. just makes things kinda cool. For me, when I hear music, I get other stuff in my head, like colors and patterns. Some music does it more intensely than others, and this particular track totally sets off a visual symphony in my head.

(But yeah.. definitely check out the Leeb/Fulber music. I think you'd dig it. :) )

Sounds a lot like Silent Lucidity from Queensryche.

Wow.. so interesting that you'd say that. I thought exactly the same thing too last night. :) Silent Lucidity is one of my favorite songs ever.

I've fallen in love with the Finnish language.. to me, just listening to it spoken sounds like poetry. Hearing it in music like this makes my brain pop.

It's apparently one of the hardest languages to learn. Totally useless outside of Finland, but I'm trying anyway just because I find it so lovely. :D

I hear you about the brain poppage. I'm addicted to Garmarna right now, especially because I'm working on a viking book ;)

Don't understand a word of it but it's awesome regardless.
