Water of Life Update

Right, wish I'd done this sooner, so if any of the players spot mistakes or serious omissions, that's what the comment field is for.

Calogero had left the characters with their first task - find the "eye of Thoth." Marty went and got his RV and drove it back to the warehouse (which is now showing the mystical marks of the Prometheans), and then jumped online to look for a pair of half-moon glasses in a local antique store. After several hours of searching, he found a pair - silver frames, too - on the "recent acquisitions" page of a store in Chicago.

Meanwhile, Herman and Al went outside and felt an Azoth flare-up. That'd be Jesus, belatedly responding to the call that Calogero had put out. They talked and decided to go get some foodstuff. At the diner, we tried out the Disquiet rules, with the result that the waitress became fascinated by Herman (he's a Golem, recall) to the point of asking him questions, hovering by the table, and offering him an application, which he took with him to fill out.

Returning to the warehouse, Marty told them about the glasses, and so they piled into the RV to head out to the store. Getting there, they parked and walked in. All was quiet. Searching around, they found a pile of debris in the back and the shopkeeper's body...just before the creature attacked.

It dropped on them from above and started beating on the characters. It was humanoid, but burned-out and vicious. It focused its attacks on Al, for the most part, and even called him by his creator's name. It also very nearly managed to tear off his arm, but in the end the combined efforts of the throng laid it low. In the process, Herman fulfilled a milestone by stepping in front of Al to protect him and Al, striking the killing blow, fulfilled a milestone (destorying his creator's first experiment).

Marty used his Ephemeral Flesh Bestowment and found the shopkeeper's ghost. The man told them that what he thought was a long beam of burnt wood came to life and threw him against the wall. Marty encouraged him to sleep rather than hold on, but the ghost wasn't quite ready for that. He did tell the characters to each take something from the store. Marty took the glasses, Julia took an orate knife, Al took a pocket watch, and Jeff and Matt are gonna have to remind me what Jesus and Herman took. Al also mentioned that obviously he'd need to look into his creators a bit more (perfect).

Leaving, the throng went back to the warehouse and contacted Calogero, who gave them the next ingredient: The Breath of Life or Death.
