but the last party post had a lot of thinly-veiled vitriol in it regarding the romantic interests of the show and how they're getting in the way of the One True OTP

Yes. This made me very uncomfortable for a long time. It scares me a little because anyone that knows the canon of Sherlock Holmes knows that Watson married. I just - I don't know. It's a little worrying to know that people think that way but it's been in every fandom I've been a part of, I'm afraid to say.

BUT SHERLOCK. i am loving this show far too much.

I can't remember if it was this bad in the '09 movie fandom? Or if BBC Sherlock is just recruiting a younger/more immature audience, although I can't see why that would be the case. I hope it doesn't get too out of hand is all. I might not ship all the pairings but I love them just because I love all the characters -- even when they're being maligned. :9

AGREED. I want to see them do all the episodes, but that'll probably never happen sob. Can't believe it'll be over so soon.

fuck my chair just broke under me WHAT THE HELL LOL

i wasn't in that fandom but from what i could tell, most people seemed to embrace both mary and irene (some people even had them together) so i think they were generally more accepting of love interests.

OMG THERE ARE SO MANY I WANT THEM TO DO ;_; (esp. the three gariddebs. MOSTLY JUST THAT ONE.)

WHAT, LOL. omg.

Oh man I have to admit the M&C instrumental scene didn't bother me too much when I saw the movie, mostly because they got it mostly synced (and I was too busy laughing hysterically at Stephen's guitar!cello to care about the rest). BUT THAT OTHER LINK IN YOUR ENTRY? DEAR GOD LOL. JUST ... LOL FOREVER. I got like five seconds into it and ran away mentally screaming. I hate it when they make that "I AM SO DEEP, I AM REALLY ~FEELING THIS MUSIC~" face, when the rest of it looks so bloody fake. I feel embarrassed just thinking about how that guy probably doesn't even know how bad he is. ;;;;

It's not as bad as Russian Sherlock Holmes though. Srsly at least the cello guy in that vid was bowing in sync -- Russian SH was like, OH MY GOD, ARE YOU EVEN TRYING? YOU JUST MISSED ABOUT FIVE BOW CHANGES! YOUR HANDS AREN'T EVEN MOVING! It was the one low point of an otherwise stellar show. :'D

I agree with everything you just said about BBC Sherlock (especially the second episode... lmfao what was that). I haven't jumped into the fandom yet, but hopefully when I do some of that vitriol will be gone... :\

I like your avatar art! So much detail and thin lines *.*

I hope your next counseling session goes well! I feel you with the suddenly-bursting-into-tears-out-of-nowhere thing.

It's not that bad honestly! I've only seen it around the party posts. Maybe it's because most Sherlock fanfics don't tend to feature female characters anyway (with the exception of Mrs Hudson, who is obvs non-threatening in a romantic sense. OR IS SHE??). So there isn't much opportunity for female-bashing there. But I guess just knowing that the sentiment is around, and that it's being so viciously expressed, is a bit alarming. No seriously though, jump into fandom, there are SO MANY shiny fics you'll spend a week devouring them all. And then you can draw fanart toooo *O*

Thanks bb! Hormones are a bitch aren't they D:

Omg I love all your chara pose design things!!! Ahhh your style is so so so nice and clean!! LOL I haven't been on Gaia in so long I don't even remember what my account is haha..... And you know you would totally be someone I rec if I ever made a rec list!!! Ahaha well I'm not a dedicated artist so mostly I only post stuff online too and real life people don't see too much of my art except for certain assignments or whatever. (Plus, I might die of embarrassment if people knew how obsessive I was about certain fandoms ( ... )

I love you too ;_; ♥ ♥

Got your email btw! Am looking up post-apocalyptic style art as we speak. This stuff is amazing. I don't even know HOW I'm going to start to approach the first image, but I'm excited just at the idea of it. Also I've never tried photo-manipulation before, but perhaps now is an excellent time to start, if I decide CGing will be too intensive!

Also I don't remember if I mentioned to you, but I'll actually be overseas for two weeks starting from 30 Nov >_<. But this coincides with the third post, which I think you said would be less image-intensive -- so the timeline might not suffer too much, as long as I get the art done just before I leave or something. And I'll be intermittently studying for the GAMSAT (test to get into med/dentistry/optom) which takes place in March, but other than that, as long as I organise my time properly, the timeline looks great :D I'm amazed by your planning abilities! It seems like you have everything worked out in your head and you know exactly where everything's going to go, ( ... )
