I had made it to California without too much trouble. I looked around for an Erik Lensherr with humans, and for a Magneto or Magnus in the mutant underworld, which was hard enough to find in itself. Most of them were too scared to even show themselves in public. They were not proud of their mutant heritage, they were weak. I sighed, it couldn’t be helped since they didn’t have a leader to show them the truth, that they were better and could achieve so much more. That would all change soon enough.
As I began to exit the run down building where I questioned yet another batch of mutant hide outs, someone beckoned me over.
“Hey kid, you looking for Magneto?”
I nodded, I overheard his name from another mutant before, it was Toad.
“Well yah didn’ hear this from me, but Magneto had a secret base in New York. Where exactly I can’t tell yah, but if yah ask around in the underground there you can bet yer ass you’ll find a lead.”
“Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind.”
Looks like I’m off to New York. Now how to ( ... )

We had been airborne maybe twenty minutes when Beast got an automated message from the mansion's security systems, raising hell about someone in the basement facilities. No ID on the intruders, though, and we were already too far into our plan to crush the camp upstate when we got word. I just hope they leave poor Douglock alone; he couldn't put up a proper fight if he wanted to. Or maybe he could; I never can remember which facilities have access to which computer systems. But knowing Douglock, all he'd need was a phone jack to get drone guns in every hallway ( ... )
