Earlier tonight, Katie and myself had gone to La Shish, the location on 14 and Van Dyke. Now, we had been here once before, and the service was terrible. So we typically goto the Masonic and Gratiot location, but we were in a rush for time, and this location was more convenient.
It began okay, the girl seemed nice enough, granted it took her a while to come and see us, even though all the other people in the restaurant at that time already had their food. When she finally did come back to bring us our food, Katie immediately noticed that her food was wrong.
You see, as some of you may know, she is a vegetarian, moving along the path to veganism. Now, the sandwich she ordered was a simple Hommous and Tabbouleh sandwich. No meat. No nothing othat than those two things. The sandwich brought to her contained chicken.
So, we wait a long ass time for the lady to even come back and ask if everything was okay. Katie informs her of the mix up, and the waitress has the nerve to tell us "I heard you say Tabbouleh and..." some other word we didn't understand, nor that was even on the menu. So, we had it sent back, hopefully having them re-make it.
But alas, the sandwich returned with the chicken picked off. Now, that means, the chicken flavor was still cooked into the food, and Katie wouldn't eat it. Obviously. We didn't want to bother sending it back again, because we had had enough.
So, we finally get our bill after another 10 minutes or so, and Katie was charged for the sandwich she didn't want, which was at least a dollar or two MORE EXPENSIVE than what she really got. We paid it, but then decided to not tip *don't worry, we did, only 2 dollars, which the lady didn't earn* because the service was horrible, on top of the SEVERE mix-up.
Now, here is where my loyal readers come in; should we have tipped? Do you think tipping should be mandatory, or do you agree with me that a tip NEEDS TO BE EARNED.
I know the waitress minimum wage is lower than normal, but I believe that a tip should be earned, and not expected. I read on a news site before, that a man was being sued for not tipping.
EXCUSE THE FUCK OUT OF ME?!?! Sued for not tipping? Last I checked, a tip was money earned by good service. If someone gives you HORRID service, than they haven't earned their tip.
So, i want feedback from everyone who reads on this one. Please give me your thoughts on this matter.
This has been a Public Outcry,
