I'm struggling a little with the purpose of this livejournal. Is it a personal journal to process my feelings? Is it a way to keep up with people I don't see often? I've been wondering about this too. It seems at first like blogging is just taking your personal diary and photocopying the pages for all to see. I rarely locked any posts, becuase I saw it basically as a transition journal. And when I was first starting out, I was trying to read as many personal experiences as I could. For your abstract question, all I can think of is this.

I think we're on the same page. :-)I'm trying to compromise between the public transition journal and the other kinds. Basically what I'm doing is just moving everything up one level of security, and making heavy use of filters. So now my "public" posts are friends-locked but not filtered beyond that. And I hope people will be comfortable enough to friend me if they want to see those!

And that comic totally flashes across my brain more often than it should.

I'm also from Philly...hi! I saw your question about the Mazzoni Center on FTM and I can ask someone at my work tonight and get back to you. Just a heads up. They also really did move--809 Locust street, I believe. Apparently its really nice looking. :]

New to the area, your LJ looks interesting, so I added you. Hope you don't mind.
