I am not really one to stand on ceremony. I have 3 wedding bands. The one official one that I hardly ever wear because I'm worried about scratching it, not to mention it's a little big on me. I have a sterling silver one that I wear most of the time because it's practical for work, it's not a big deal if I lose it, and it's nice a simple. Bun also got me a claddah wedding band for our 1st anniversary that I'll wear sometimes but am afraid of losing it (he got it from Ireland and it would be tough to replace).
Do what you feel comfortable with. If you want to sleep without risk of scratching yourself or Glen, then by all means, take it off. Maybe have a small dish or box or something to put it in when you take it off so you don't worry about it getting lost.

But I still do take my rings off a lot - especially recently as my wedding ring started doing something weird to my finger - couldn't wear it for any real length of time....
I also hate wearing them at work and often stuff them into my pocket or purse when I'm heading to a birth....
It's not a big deal in my eyes - when I forget to put them on Ian likes to kid that he's out with a single woman!! :)
