Frequent rutting destroys futons. Metal frame futons with lots of bolts specifically employed to guarantee system integrity. Metal frame futons which utterly decompose into their various component parts as they are being transported away from the scene of collapse.

Apparently, lovin' actually consumes metal bolts. Who knew?

Look, you're not supposed to do it with the futon, but on it.

Sheesh.

But come on. It's a futon. Form AND function.

Every time I'm engaged in filthy activity, I'm always amazed at how much yaw the headboard obtains. So the next day, I get down and re-tighten the bolts, only to soon find the headboard has quickly regained freedom of lateral movement.

But it certainly beats my old IKEA bed. Although few things are more satisfying than hearing a balsa wood strut *SNAP* in mid-act.
