Ok.......where are the Russian people? Was it really early in the morning or something? (A shopping centre in London would be busy no matter what time.)
*LOL* How many hooligans were they expecting? The metro is lovely....are all the stations like that? Mmmm...absolutly detest the fur and skins stalls, one day (sooner rather than later) it will be both illegal and unnecessary the world over.
It was late in the evening, but Moscow is definitely not as busy as London.
Most inner city stations are like that. The rest is of very old fashioned beauty too (at least what I saw). Same applies to the trains themselves.
In Russia they don't understand why they shouldn't use animal furs against the extreme cold. They say they love animals too but they need the extra warmth for winter. I guess thus it is still a culturally usual and accepted thing in Russia. I myself hate it too, especially since nowadays there are alternatives for the fur that will keep you just as warm. But yes, sooner or later this should change all over the world.
Thank you so very much for posting your beautiful photos!
Sorry for not even opening my friendspage these last few days, I'm trying not to suffocate under that huge heap of "Jahrgangsstufentests" and the test on the Kite-Runner as well as the last Klausur - Wedekind... "Notenschluss" is on Wednesday, so I have to manage. I'm almost through.
Life-size toy-soldiers, golden... erm... "onions" (erm... English for "Zwieberlturm"? *LOL*). And poor dead foxes. Right. I actually do wear leather (shoes and jackets) because I also eat meat (both with a bad conscience) but then... nobody eats a fox. Nor a ferrett. So for what do they need to wear their fur and breed them in cages to keep their hair clean? And wearing fur even returns here, too, at least it did last winter :-(.
You will manage *crossing fingers* Keep going and look forward to the holidays. :x
Well, I just tried to explain to elle above why they still wear furs in Russia. Sooner or later awareness will spread throughout the world. That humans kill animals is normal and acceptable for me. It is our nature to eat meat and make use of animal skins etc. The problem is the toreturing of animals really. Much can be avoided by refusing to wear furs - which we don't really need in our climate anyway. But you are right - furs have returned with a vengeance. I often hope its artificial fur when I see people wearing it. Mostly its old ladies though (diffferent generation).
By the way, I always found Hagrid's moleskin coat unnecessarily cruel. Not funny at all.
Fur has even returned with young lables :-(, kids wearing fur collars along with their rapper attire.
I know, foxes raised on wire meshes in little boxes...
My family has/had two farms, one a chicken farm (not nice...), one a small self-sustaining farm with "happy" animals... I grew up eating what they produced but have taken to supermarket-shopping, of course. Well.
*LOL* "Elle above"? :-) She IS divine, for sure (and she doesn't harm any animal, yes, of course she's "Elle above". *LOL*)
For the collars that's true :( One of the cases where I kept on hoping it was artificial. Rappers are no role models - what a surprise!
It is horrible what we do to animals. Maybe it will be getting better with time. People are much better informed about all this than in former times. How lucky you were with the two farms. Your parents should supply you with eggs etc. :)
