I have a copper IUD and I love it. However, if you think you might want to have kids in a year-ish, it might not be worth it. The insertion will probz be less painful for you than it was for me, since you've had a kid already, but it's still no walk in the park. And I don't know what your insurance sitch is, but if you don't have it covered, it's pretty pricey. Also, I don't know if it made my cramps suck, or if they just suck because I went off the pill or what. But there's a chance they could make your cramps suck.

But! If you do think you want something long term, then I say 100% yes!

Is there a reason you chose the copper IUD over Mirena? I hadn't realized that Mirena was progestin only so I initially ruled it out; now that I know, I'm more ok with it. And apparently the copper one can give you copper toxicity, which is rare but knowing that makes it less appealing.

I think I'll flip a coin.
