The power of the ring has been determined. Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King, has garnered ELEVEN AWARDS OUT OF ELEVEN NOMINATIONS at the 76th Academy Awards!!!!!!!! It's a feat only met by Gigi and The Last Emperor, to garner all the awards nominated for a film. Of cos, LOTR bested it since the two only had 9 awards each...
AND the film also ties with Titanic and Ben Hur as getting the most number of Oscars, tying at 11 each. Titanic had 14 nominations, Ben Hur had 12.. so they didn't win ALL their nominations. *glee* ROTK would have broken this record if it had been nominated for Best Cinematography, which it should have, cos it definitely would have won that award as well!!! Grrr.... but I'm just thankful and amazed by the film's feat... SO HAPPY!!!!
AND it has broken the US$1 billion mark in world-wide box office gross within 2 months, the only other film apart from Titanic to do so, and of cos within a shorter period of time.
Of cos if u don't count ROTK as a stand alone film and instead focus on LOTR as a whole epic trilogy, it would have broken records many times over! Together with the 6 Oscars garnered by Fellowship of the Ring and the 2 by The Two Towers, the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy has been awarded a jaw-dropping 19 Oscars!!!! Plus it has broken the US$2.8 billion mark world-wide!!!! WOOHOO!!!
Now who's the King??? Lord of the rings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One more time!!!! Lord of the RINGSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!! I can't hear you~~~~~~ LORD OF THE RRRRRRRRRIIIIIINNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *SHRIEKS*
