People apologize to get out of things almost always. This seems the case with me, I'm sure. When I apologize I always mean it. I say I'm sorry upwards of 10 times a day to various people, and I always mean it. This happens so much because I do so much I regret. I'm ravished by guilt. I can't say it enough. i say sorry all the time because i too have an overwhelming sense of guilt, i know in my heart i havent down anything wrong but i will take the blame just too make life easier ( ... )

exactly!

in the end you are saying the word and it means nothing..........

if i am really really sorry then i do say 'i am really really sorry'

i so wish i didnt keep using that word! i might say 'i apologise profusely me lady/me lord' and see what reaction i get then!
