People apologize to get out of things almost always. This seems the case with me, I'm sure. When I apologize I always mean it. I say I'm sorry upwards of 10 times a day to various people, and I always mean it. This happens so much because I do so much I regret. I'm ravished by guilt. I can't say it enough. I wish there was a stronger word for it. I

i say sorry all the time because i too have an overwhelming sense of guilt, i know in my heart i havent down anything wrong but i will take the blame just too make life easier

I know what you mean with your best friend. You say it so much it seems like it loses its power.

in the end you are saying the word and it means nothing..........

if i am really really sorry then i do say 'i am really really sorry'

i so wish i didnt keep using that word! i might say 'i apologise profusely me lady/me lord' and see what reaction i get then!
