The sun did shine here for a little while, but it clouded over again and now it's going dark.

That looked like an interesting walk. A carpeted bridleway is definitely a first. I've never come across anything like that. I love the woodland photos. A little autumn colour at last.

The Met Office is forecasting sunshine tomorrow, but I shall believe it when I see it.

Kingston Maurward college has a big equestrian centre, and I suppose the horses use that bridleway a lot. Maybe it had become too deep in mud to use, and, instead of putting down stone, they tried out the astroturf as a cheap solution? But it was certainly one of the strangest paths I've ever followed.

It will be interesting to see how the astroturf holds up long term, though I suppose it's not too difficult to relay if it wears out.

Thank you for sharing your walk. That carpeted walkway is just so odd.
The light in the forest is so pretty.

You're welcome!

It was a shame there was no sunlight to light the leaves yesterday. Autumn beech trees are always glorious in the sunlight. But there was still quite a bit of colour.

Those autumn colors are so rich and a trifle somber.

The beeches and the sweet chestnuts are doing their best to give us a bit of bright colour, but it really is such sombre weather.
