Once again I am reminded how lucky I am to live in a country where we have little yellow arrows marked on gateways, welcoming everyone to pass through...

Lucky indeed that they let you pass through . I don’t see much left of nature in England it is different nature changed by humans with wild depending on agriculture poetic in roads and ditches narrow always hidden cultivated in some way . There is more gardens then forests

Indeed. There's very little true wilderness in the UK, except perhaps in the highlands.

The area I live in has been cultivated since the Bronze Age, and the whole landscape has been shaped by agriculture and grazing livestock.
