There were three things I needed to do today...
Mission One: check the tyre pressure on my car. Failed.
I have one of those little tyre inflator gadgets in the boot, but it plugs into the power outlet between the front seats, and the power outlet is no longer working. Perhaps the fuse has blown? But, looking at Google, the fuses on the Ford are horribly complicated, so I think I will have to leave it to the garage to check when it goes in for its service in the New Year.
Drove round to three different garages, none of which had a functioning air machine.
Mission Two: buy a Christmas tree. Completed.
This looked like being a failure too, as the first place I tried was sold out of Christmas trees. But luckily I thought of the farm shop, and they had lots of Christmas trees, sensibly sized, for sale at 25 per cent off.
Managed to manhandle the tree into the living room without it shedding all its needles, and then did the fastest Christmas tree decoration in world history. Got the fairy lights working. Hurled tinsel and baubles at it. Work of art, it ain't, but I have no time for perfection. It has all the requisite shiny things. It smells of conifer.
Can't say I feel at all Christmassy yet. But that's probably just as well, because I tend towards gloom at Christmas anyway.
Mission Three: write and post Christmas cards. Failed.
The Procrastination Fairy paid a visit.
Tomorrow. I will do this tomorrow.
