This is something that almost never happens at work.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Hanging with the kids at work generally makes me feel better, even on the days that involve fights, tears, defiance etc. Cool, huh.

I did! Unfortunately I wrote it in Inform7, the only language I know, which has a few limitations. I might try to redo it in some other language in the future as an educational exercise. How is Python for random text substitutions?

I have no idea what Inform7 is, and I don't believe I've actually used python before . . . but from what I know I think it's a fairly quick language to learn, and pretty good at doing lots of stuff - they should put me on their marketing team!

What kind of random text source are you using? Everything, or did you define a limited set of possibilities? How are you dealing with grammar? (Mind if I peek at your source?) I'm finding this far too interesting =)

Had a look at and installed Inform7 and it looks really cool! Was going to play with it a bit more but I just realised Mint 11 was released so . . . *tests the live DVD*
