(I wish I'd just fastforwarded the rest of the movie, to be honest. So not even remotely worth it. Then again, I love Deadpool to pieces.)

I don't know Nicolas Hoult well, but er, see my opinions on James McAvoy and Jennifer Lawrence above. Also, January Jones as Emma Frost is the most perfect casting ever, I can't even. SO EXCITE.

If Destiny's in the movie, I will pretty much die of happiness on the spot. The rest of the movie could be utter ass and I'd still be squeeing. Mostly, though, the recent spate of pretty freaking amazing superhero movies is fulfilling ALL MY NERDDREAMS EVER oh god AVENGERS AVENGERS AAAAH

I'm trying not to be too optimistic about this movie. Really I'm not. But every time I see stuff for it, I freak out ^.^ It looks gorgeous.

Xaviar/Magneto is totally canon in my head. Totally. I love how nice the actors look together, and mind violation and war of ideologies and angst and mutual respect with just a hint of loathing... Yep. Pretty much fits my type of pairing. (Eric's pretty grandson in my icon is gay, too... Runs in the family ^^) If anything, I fully anticipate some great fic coming out regardless of how the movie is and that makes me gleeful.

James McAvoy is very pretty and I support him playing Cinna for THG.

The 60s in general are very VERY relevant to my interests. Cold War AU with mutants just makes it even better.

We'll have to wait and see, but... In the mean time, i'll be watching that trailer on repeat and searching tirelessly for the music that was playing in it, because it made the trailer even more badass ^__________^

Same here -- I know trailers are often better than the movies themselves, but HOLY CHRIST DID YOU SEE MAGNETO REROUTING MISSILES LAJSDLKFJASDF.

Erik and Charles pretty much hit all of my France/England buttons, not going to lie. Beloved enemies who know each other better than anyone else in the world does, who mutually define each other -- yep. There's going to be a shitload of slash once this thing comes out, because now they are young and pretty instead of old and amazing. oh fandom, your priorities. Though they look pretty amazing in this, to be fair. I will probably be on that bandwagon. (Hell, Ian McKellen said he and Patrick Stewart were playing them like old lovers in the original X-trilogy. All the justification I need.)

HAVE YOU SEEN THIS ONE YET????? amethyst_amore April 29 2011, 04:07:59 UTC

ERIK KAFBDjklbdelwa!!!!! I know Magneto is a villain whose done so many horrible things like killing innocent people, terrorizing mankind, manipulating his own children on multiple occasions, trying to kill said children, and maybe-possibly-sort-of trying to use his grandsons for nefarious unknown schemes in Avengers: Children's Crusade, but.... You can actually sympathize with him many times. You don't want to, but you can't help it. And there are moments when he does seem to harbor remorse for his actions or regret certain choices he's made, but those moments are fleeting and not always genuine. And he sometimes is the good guy until he does something to remind you he's a bad guy. Yeah.

In short: SO MANY FEELINGS!!!!!! SO MANY COMPLICATED FEELINGS FOR ERIK IT'S INSANE!!!!

Ack, sorry, wasn't sure! The Internet is not always a reliable means of communication. But yeah. I shipped them before I even knew what shipping was. All that delicious delicious history and mutual obsession.

I ... had been ignoring this, after being generally disappointed by the previous X-Men films.

I was clearly wrong to do so.

(Your #s 1, 5, and 6 could apply equally well to me as well.)

I'm mostly fond of X-men and think X-2 is pretty fantastic (though we shall not speak of X-3 and Origins), but holy fuckballs, this might knock them all out of the water. I am seeing this movie on opening weekend and nothing will stand in my way.

And I didn't know you were into X-men! Mith and Linden are not comic book nerds the way I am, and I need more people to geek with.

Since the 80s. I had to read the Dark Phoenix Saga once it came out in TPB, but I was there for the New Mutants (and their later turn into X-Force), X-Factor, the Blue and Gold teams... I dropped out during X-cutioner's Song (every time I had to read one done by Jae Lee I cringed -- he got better later, but mid-90s Jae Lee was utterly godawfully over-inked with black). I drifted back in and out over years to come, and I have to admit I haven't picked up an X-Men comic in a couple of years at least, so I have no idea what's going on since maybe the craziness of House of M.

So old stuff -- I can geek about the Claremont years with anyone, but the more recent stuff I need as much updating as anyone; I just know the names...

I also do like the Bat-Family, but that I followed even more spottily.

Never much liked the Avengers, but I did like Captain America for some of the same reasons I like Batman: largely unpowered human just doing what's right, although not really what's sane...
