I miss videogames. I was at a Gamestop with my youngest brother today and I looked at the 3DS for like ten minutes.I wanted to buy it but what the hell for? I don't have time to finish the kinds of games I used to love (RPG's).

I feel fucking old now.

Loving RPGs doesn't make you old! I have terrible hand-eye coordination (though my foot-eye coordination's pretty good), so RPGs and tactical games are the only kinds I can play without dying all the time. And I think a lot of Western RPGs -- the Bioware ones, at least -- are shorter? At least on the first playthrough? So maybe those are worth looking into? (I don't actually know, mind you, it's been forfuckingever since I picked up a controller. Well. Until just now.)

lol I didn't mean old for like RPG's (I doubt Kingdom Hearts was made with grown ups in mind).

I meant I don't have time for shit. I got two jobs and I'm finishing a second baccalaureate degree before med school (it seemed like a good idea at the time and I wasn't even drunk).

I was enjoying the latest KH for the PSP but I don't remember the last time I turned the PSP on.

I feel you on the time constraints, definitely. ._. I have time to screw around with videogames now because I desperately need blocks of time to not think about my thesis. S5 is a nice sanity-retention tool that way.

Suikoden won't disappoint. I have a friend who's a fan and she says it's mostly very solid.

S2 has a particularly epic opening score. Unfortunately S1 and S2 are still, I believe, right up there on the list of Games What Really Need to be Put On as Downloads because finding hard copies is like finding unicorns.

... and I wouldn't say Dragon Age or Mass Effect are short. Not quite Persona 4's 120 hours or so, but definitely not short.

(Dragon Age 2 is sogoodsoveryverygood.)

*nod* Mith is huge into Suikoden, and has been trying to get me to play the games for years, and is now planning to take me back through the rest of the series. I'm going to see if I can find an emulator so I can play 1 (and possibly 2, though Mith isn't a fan of 2, so we'll see), though I hate running emulators on laptops. Oh well.

I'll trust you on that! Like I said, no appropriate system, so I haven't played either, though I've sat over friends' shoulders while they've played Mass Effect.

I also don't think 2 is as good as 1, 3, or 5 - it's like reverse Star Trek movie syndrome! But it's worth playing, in that it's pretty relevant to 1 and 3. 4, not so much.

Or maybe I just think that because 2 has so much Viktor, and Viktor is definitely in my top five video game characters EVER.

I am not opposed to playing 2! I know some people who adore it and some people who don't, and I imagine I'll form my own opinion on it, whether from watching a Let's Play or cutscenes or actually tracking the thing down and finding a decent emulator. I think 3 is next on the list, though, because Mith's been trying to hook me on that one at least as long as she's been trying to hook me on 5.
