Ha oh wow, I figured I'd have people disagreeing with me, but multiple people actually removing me? Didn't see that one coming. It makes me wonder how many of them think I'm a homophobe right now, I'm only in the sense that I hate myself in general

I don't think you're homophobic at all, but rather realistic about what one day in a year can actually do for a cause. I mean, it's great and everything and I will forever support gay rights just like I'd support black rights or whatever, but let's face it, like with all other major charity/awareness days/weeks/months, most people will forget that they oh so greatly support it within a week or so. Sad but true.
Also I hate to say it, but to be HONEST, I kind of got sick of hearing about it /all the time/, like it was being shoved down my throat to the point where I was really really sick of it, but felt bad for being sick of it because it IS a great cause.
So does that make me homophobic? Cus last I checked, three of my best friends are gay or bi, loads of my other friends and acquaintances are too and so are two of my cousins.

That's precisely how I feel too, I tried to explain it to a friend today, but he just looked weirdly at me and went "you're a terrible lesbian" and acted prissy at me for the rest of the day.
My god I hate the if-you're-not-with-us-you're-against-us mentality.

and nobody at our school (or town) in general knew wtf day it was today even if dA was colored purple.(hell, dA reminded me that it was 'spirit day' like other people on here.)

But I long since grew out of that "OMG LET'S CELEBRATE BEING GAY" phase. Now, I'm more low-key about it. I buy t-shirts from the HRC store, but they're more subdued slogans - "Love is Everywhere" and "Love Conquers Hate," that kind of thing. And I certainly wouldn't condone homophobic behavior. But it's really no one's business, right?
I kind of think the people are all gung-ho about supporting their gay friends are the ones who think it's hip or cool or are trying to defy social norms. And if people are going to unfriend you because you're not a sheep, it's their loss.
PS - I wish Communism worked. It's such a great idea on paper ._.

Oh god you're spot on with the friends, the whole trend of going "YEAH I'M AN ALLY" is just tiring. What the hell it's not a war, I don't want an ally, I just want a friend.
Poor Marx, people just didn't get it >:
