it's amazing how many memories we all have, yet we never really reflect upon their meaning and significance in our lives. What's wrong with this? Why can't we have enough time to think of the past and the present? Is life something that is just self-perpetuating into the future? it's good that we don't have enough time to think about the past. then we'd obsess over it and get nowhere.

"now" is the only moment we definitely have control over. we can choose to delude ourselves about the past, but what happened still happened. we can attempt to prepare for the future, but fate or god or bad luck will still appear and forcibly change our plans.

do we have to prepare for the future? can we simply let it happen, living our lives learning on the mistakes we've made in the past? Or would this be called preparing for the future?
