I'm pretty sure that Obama isn't suggesting that the US join the EU.

But that's still pretty sucky

Well, US-Americans are known to have bad geography skills, but to place America inside europe seems a bit far-fetched, really.

Same for Turkey, in fact. They have a few sqaremiles of land inside geographical europe, but most of it is still in Asia. And sure most of them don't behave very european.
