This is the food segment, part two!
I went out to a cafe, and met a local friend for lunch.
Image heavy, so click below!
There are Puggleformers all over the world.
I sent out a beacon to the Tokyo area, hoping to meet someone who had moved here ahead of time for a chat.
Soundwave couldn't make it, sadly... Something about a prior engagement... But someone else did!
Hello, Blitzwing!
Blitzwing has been living in Tokyo with his human host for over a year, and we had a lovely chat.
We perused the menu. I couldn't read any of it, but Blitzwing was happy to translate.
All of it looked delicious.
Once we ordered, we decided to peek out the window.
The cafe had quite a view! Over there is a shopping complex that I later browsed.
Japanese dishes are typically smaller than the ones available in the United States. All of it seemed almost made for puggle-sized stomachs; it was quite refreshing to not have any leftovers!
Amusingly, the disposable chopsticks package is in English.
We ate so much food. So much delicious food!
With my friend Blitzwing, it was one of the loveliest meals I've had in a very long time.
After we paid for our meal... By the way, there was no sales tax or tipping involved, which is an amazing thing... We journeyed to the nearby shopping center to find a nice dessert or perhaps something to bring home.
This is candy.
This is amazing, ornate jelly candy.
This is also candy.
Sugar, mostly. Sugar shaped to look like fruits and other things! All of it looked so delicate... And so delicious.
This is sugar and konpeito.
Konpeito is a new favorite of mine; sugar shaped like little stars, a traditional favorite in Japan.
It melts on your tongue like heaven.
I bought a basket.
...I already ate it.
This is alcohol.
Sake, I think.
... I drank the whole bottle.
I have no idea what I actually consumed, but I slept like a hatchling.
