Play fighting? How much is too much?

I have a question: I just introduced a 9 week precocious pug pup to my 4 year old pug Oliver. They finally warmed up to each other but now they play fight all the time. Neither of their tails are down, but they have literally been doing this for hours the last two days. He's so tiny and my pug is so big, but they keep fighting just the same (in ( Read more... )

First that photo is adorable! Been a pug owner for 10 years now and even when mine really did "fight" on occassion I tried to let them work it out. Fortunately since pugs don't have the teeth nor jaws to do too much harm I wouldn't worry too much. If the tails are curled... :)

It sounds like a combo of playing and probably some dominance. Soon they will be sleeping on top of one another. I bet the little one is just being a puppy and also bringing out the playfullness of the older one. Cute.

My pug Igby play fights a lot and he has a good time. Used to be concerned at the dog park but he never whelps so I think hes just having fun. ADORABLE puppy, omg.
