I finished reading Imperial Commando: 501st tonight and, call me crazy but there are lots of things in there I recognized in my own work.

One of the things is Karen introducing the fucking bandanna as one accessory for a Mandalorian. Described as worn tied around  the head, just like in this LJ icon. It was Mij Gilamar, though.

I think she's got super powers or something, because I remember finding some random notes on commando squads I made a few years ago, just before Triple Zero came out and one of them was JUST LIKE Dred Priest. Hell, his NAME was Dred. I was creeped out, especially since none of this was ever put online.

I need that book. Can't wait until this term is over and I can get it.

My opinion is that KT discusses a lot of things with her brainstorming team, and at least one of them is very obsessed with whatever they can find on the internet about her characters. Maybe I wouldn't go as far as believing they also read fan fiction or there really aren't that many ways you can write a bad ass Mandalorian tale.

That makes sense. I thought she said somewhere that she wouldn't read fanfiction for that reason, but I guess that doesn't stop other people. Badass Mandos must have bandannas. To match their skirts Kamas.
