An Open Letter to Filipino Graphic Designers & Other Young Artists

I often come across rants by some young graphic designer or digital artist about how his/her idea was copied, or work was stolen or was used by others with out permission etc. And as an artist myself, my natural reaction I guess should be sympathy but it’s not. It just gets my blood boiling as to how self absorbed people can be.

Lol. Well, point taken. He was just taking it from the whole general concept of originality which eventually branched into those points.

Yeah I get his point, but he said a whole bunch of unnecessary irrelevant things that are ANNOYING.

Like...downloading FONTS off the internet. People upload those things so that they CAN be downloaded. And a lot of these font sites are for FREE. And That whole thing about street artists not owning the wall. Unnecessary mention. It's a public structure. Do they really have to go "Thank you to Manong Karpintero for building this wall."

It just sounds like he's taking away people's RIGHT to complain about their work because they use pirated software. It's not like if we had money we'd still use pirated stuff anyway.

Eh following his logic, it's like saying:
We lied and disobeyed our parents; when our kids do the same, we have no right to get mad at them. :|
